What Is Reality?

We create our own reality with the power of our thoughts, our subconscious, our beliefs, and what we choose to accept.

If you want proof, think of how a single phrase, speech, book, or movie, has changed the way our entire civilization speaks, acts, thinks. Where one person made such a huge change that the entire fabric of our civilization changed as a result of their existence. For examples I proffer:

"I have a dream" - Martin Luther King Jr. was a huge inspiration to many people, and because of his speeches inspired many to change their reality. This one phrase has meant much to many. It has been used to inspire, to uplift, and to help people focus on their goals.

1984 - the very year sends shivers up many people's backs. The book 1984, written in the 1940's and detailing one supposed future where Big Brother watches everything appears to be becoming a self fulfilling prophecy. We have Big Brother joked about all the time, even a TV show where people are on camera 24/7 with no privacy. The idea has become part of the collective knowledge.

The Matrix - a movie that, when it débuted in 1999 became a huge hit and impacted on the psyche of western civilization. It drew upon several different religions for the storyline and as such helped people identify with it. The idea that this is all an illusion is far more real than the writers probably thought, unless they were trying to help others realise it.

All of the above examples only needed those few words and you knew all about them and what is meant by one small thing affecting so many people.

So is reality the dream? And dreams reality? Are we individuals? Or all connected? Are we creators of our reality? Or helpless in the face of fate? Humans instinctively already know the answer. We fight against 'losing control' and taking charge. However we try to do so through incorrect means. We work with force, and damaging one thing to gain another. This is not always the way we should move.  We had a say in our lives before we were born. We formulated what we would do and how. This is why many feel a certain force at work - 'fate' - it is merely our predefined choices occurring.

But the free will means we can choose to go off of our Path and learn nothing, closing our hearts and minds. But I don't believe you would be reading this if you were closed in heart and mind. The first step is to open our minds. To accept that there are other modes of thought other than our own, and they may be right, and we may be wrong. Secondly to open our hearts. To be vulnerable. To be open to hurt, and pain, and love, and joy, and peace. We are here to learn, that is our primary goal. We are also here to teach others, and help them on their Paths, be that healing, teaching, guiding or prodding.

We also create our reality through the amount of energy we aim at a situation or event or thing. Every moment there are thoughts going through your head. Everything is energy. If you get into quantum physics they have proven that everything is made up of energy. From a star, to electricity, to a bed, to a baby. So if everything is energy, there must be rules as to how it all works. Science has already pinpointed several different types of energy, but is far from understanding all of them.

Latest studies have actually proven that everything is connected, that there is a form of energy that links everything in the universe, and that what happens to one affects another. Therefore, when we make decisions it ripples out, affecting many others. Whatever we put energy into has a 'heavier weight' and is more likely to occur. So if we focus on positive, we get positive. If we focus on negative, we get negative. If we meditate on good things but always believe it won't happen, we attract the things we fear.

So we need to guard our thoughts, for they are the creative aspect of energy. They are the guiding force which dictates what Path our lives will take. Choose your thoughts moment by moment, with the awareness that each and every one is a droplet in the lake of your life. Whether the lake is beautiful and clear, or murky and stagnant, is up to you.

Love and Light,
