ALGIZ - Sanctuary

You feel the need for some safety right now. It might be  good idea to retreat a bit and spend some time alone, reflecting on what has happened. There is something to be learned from what has happened, and now is a good time to find out exactly what that lesson is. Learning from it will make you stronger and wiser.  

ANSUZ - Messages

Be alert to what is happening now. Messages, information and warnings will come to you. Sometimes by means you do not expect. Often the message may be of something new about to begin, but don't confine it to just that. This rune also can be a sign that you are beginning to change, as we become more in tune with the world around us.  

BERKANA - Growth

This is a gentle growing time. It can also mean fertility, but always remember that it is a gentle rune, and associated with nature itself, like the growth of a tree, or the flowing of a stream. If you are consulting the runes about a problem and this rune pops up, it normally means a favourable outcome.  

DAGAZ - Daylight

Light is what this rune represents. The light of new discovery, and a great bursting forth in the area of self. It is a warrior rune, so don't feel afraid. A radical shift is coming, but it is a good one, and long in coming. So treat it with joy and respect, as it deserves.  

EHWAZ - The Horse

This rune means transportation, motion. Horses were sacred in olden times as they were their main means of transportation. You may be moving house, or jobs, or it may be simply a change in the way you see a situation. It is a gentle advancement of change.  

EIHWAZ - Yew Tree

This rune is linked to the Yew tree, from which bows were made by the Vikings. It was their defence to keep their land their own. So beware of others who would seek to take what is yours, and be on your guard, even as you enjoy those things you now have.

FEHU - Wealth

This is a time to reflect on all you have been given and to be thankful in the generosity of the universe. Put thanksgiving in your heart, remember not to waste what you have been given as one day things may not be as plentiful, and always remember to help those less fortunate than yourself.  

GEBO - Partnership

The keyword with this rune is karma. You send out good things, good things come back to you. We give to the universe and it gives back. In this way we can have perfect accord. If you already have this in your life, than it's time to be happy. If you don't, then meditate on how you can acheive the balance you want in your life.  

HAGALAZ - Destruction

This rune primarily represents the forces of nature at their most frightening. It's about things that we cannot control in our lives, and things that can, in an instant, destroy that which has taken years to achieve. No matter how hard you try, some things cannot be avoided, nor should they be. So allow the hard lessons to be learnt, and remember that it is for your ultimate benefit, even if it doesn't feel like it right now.
